The purpose of S.H.I.E.L.D is to help prepare young men to be good leaders as they mature into manhood. This includes leadership in the home, church, and community.
This objective is achieved through motivational and scriptural lessons by our keynote speaker, break-out sessions led by Christian men, and hands-on application of the principles taught. All of this takes place in a safe, secure environment where the boys are encouraged to develop friendships, have fun, and learn as they grow together.
The acronym, S.H.I.E.L.D., stands for Serving Him in Early Leadership Development. This is a youth rally and lock-in for boys. It is held annually on the second Friday and Saturday of November. It involves guest speakers and classes for the boys to encourage them to grow in the faith and to develop in certain areas of leadership. There are times of learning and times of fun. S.H.I.E.L.D. is an event that is looked forward to by young men from different areas of the state each year.
